Early start time announced for
Benton County’s Hogan Memorial
VINTON, Iowa (June 18) – Sunday’s Hogan Memorial special for IMCA
Modifieds at Benton County Speedway will begin an hour earlier than
previously announced.
Pit gates at Vinton open at 3 p.m., with hot laps at 4:30 p.m. and
racing to follow.
NASCAR Nationwide Series rookie Landon Cassill will join the Modified
field for a feature that pays $1,200 to win, with an additional $50
going to the driver scored in the lead on each of the 25 laps. The
winner will be added to the ballot for the 2009 Fast Shafts All-Star
Invitational.
Also on the June 22 mid-season championship night card are Karl
Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco
Hobby Stocks and IMCA Sport Compacts.
The program was postponed from June 15 because of flooding and the
loss of electrical power at the fairgrounds.
Drivers and fans are again reminded that Highway 150 is closed on the
north side of Vinton because of flood damage and that an alternate
route may be needed to get to the track.
