NEW TRIPOLI, PA - Brad Grim Scores Another 4th Place Finish At Five Mile Point Speedway
by Steve Pados, GA Motorsports Media

Coplay, Pennsylvania's Brad Grim enjoyed another solid run at the Five Mile Point Speedway last Saturday night as he continuously puts the Brad Grim Racing signature number 611 race car into the top five finishing order on a weekly basis. Grim began the feature event from the ninth starting position and though it took a few laps to sort out the traffic in front of him, Grim used both the inside and the outside lanes of the 1/4 mile speed-plant to eventually hoist himself into contention. Grim was still coming forward at the drop of the checkered flag as the laps ran out for the talented Lehigh Valley based driver. Butch Klinger, who was taking advantage of a rare front row starting spot, led the entire 20-lap distance to be victorious in the final feature event rundown of the event. Justin Holland scored the runner-up role and did close in on Klinger toward the latter stages of the event, but could not muster the power to get by and make it stick. Joey Colsten, who won the night before at Penn Can, was third while Grim, in a great run, settled for fourth. Shaun Walker, the winner from a week ago, completed the top five.

The Sportsman division at Five Mile Point Speedway remains to be one of the most competitive in racing today. The solid car counts and the talented group of drivers who makeup the division roster make the Sportsman division to be one of the most popular with the fans at the speedway.

While the Brad Grim Racing Team is not running for the title this year at the speedway due to work committments and the soaring costs the National fuel crisis has imposed on the Pennsylvania based team, the proud team always want to give a good showing for their sponsors and fans wherever they choose to compete. All of the finishes at Five Mile Point this year have been top tens except for the postponed raced where the team opted not to return for the rescheduled Sunday night show again due to costs and job related concerns. Even with the DNS finish marring the excellent finishing record of the team, the Grim Racing Team sits in a tie for seventh in the 2008 points battle. The challenge of trying to find more sponsorship funding in a disasterous economy are staggering to the team and the sound reasoning behind taking the season on a one race at a time basis.

Grim, who has averaged three wins per season at the speedway for the past three years as well as earning the 2006 Sportsman Championship, is still seeking the first win for the team in 2008. The talented young charger has been a fixture at Five Mile Point the past few years and truly enjoys the tight competition the speedway provides. As always Grim straps himself behind the belts of the family owned signature numbered 611 Dirt Wheels Chassis/Davey George powered race car for the weekly racing action at the Kirkwood, New York racing facility. For the popular Grim it will be his fourth full year in racing, having spent the three years prior in part time roles driving at other speedways in the Northeast.

The Brad Grim Racing Team efforts are headed crew headed up by former top racing talent and current car owner and Crew Chief Gary Grim. Also playing a major part on the team is Book Keeper Stephanie Barton, as she works hard at keeping the low-buck team within the budget restraints. Longtime crew members Jason Kern, Bill German, and Tom Doyle have been faithful supporters of the Grim racing and make the weekly trip to the speedway lending their full support to the team.

The Brad Grim Racing has expanded their horizons for the 2008 racing season.
