HUGE TWO WEEKS OF RACING ON TAP FOR RACE FANS AT FIVE MILE POINT SPEEDWAY. BIG EVENTS SLATED IN A SPAN OF JUST OVER TWO WEEKS AT THE QUARTER MILE.

A huge stretch of racing is scheduled to take place at Five Mile Point Speedway and it all gets underway this Wednesday, June 25th with all of the action set to get underway at 7:30 p.m.. On tap this Wednesday will be the Race of Champions Dart Dirt Sportsman Tour will be joined by the Dart Dirt Series Pure Stocks and Lightning Cat Open.
Coming up this Wednesday, June 25th Five Mile Point Speedway will host the first big mid-week show of the 2008 racing season. The Race of Champions Dart Dirt Sportsman tour will be joined by the Dart Dirt Series Pure Stock tour and Lightning Cat Open competition event. The RoC Sportsman will be making their first of four appearances at the Point this season. Utica Rome weekly campaigner and current R.o.C point leader Jim Rocky Rothwell will lead in the contingent of outsiders. The weekly stars will be ready to defend their home turf this Wednesday in the 40 lap special event. The Pure Stocks will also compete in a special 40 lapper on Wednesday night. This will be the second event of the Dart Dirt Pure Stock Series. The Lightning Cats will be on the program with a 25 lap open event. Race time is 7:30 p.m. this Wednesday with regular weekly admission pricing in effect.
This Saturday, June 28th will be the 44th running of the Heath Memorial at Five Mile Point Speedway. This year the Modified teams will gun it out in a 50 lap STAR Series shootout between the FMP and Penn Can stars. The winner of the prestigious event will earn $2,000. The race is a tribute to the Anna and Irving Heath founders of the speedway in 1951. The annual former racers reunion will also be scheduled. Drivers are returning from as far away as Florida for this years reunion. Great stories will certainly be told during this gathering. Race time next Saturday is 6 p.m.
Saturday, July 5th will be the annual 2 for 1 night at the speedway. Grandstand admission will be half price on this night and the action will be bigger than ever. The CRSA 305 Sprint Cars will invade for this huge night of racing along with the 600 c.c. Modifieds. A huge fireworks display will be highlighted along with racing in the Sportsman, Pure Stocks, Lightning Cats and Figure 8 divisions. Race time is 6 p.m. and no food or drink is permitted in to the grandstand on this evening.
Five Mile Point Speedway will be the focus of the northeast racing world on Tuesday, July 8th for the Race of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour 75 lap special. The R.o.C Sportsman will also be on the card with a 40 lap feature event. Last year Billy Decker won this event at the Point but it was his teammate Pat Ward winning the overall Tour title. Ward has already recorded one victory at the speedway in 2008. The local Modified stars will be trying to end a dry spell in which the invaders have been tough to beat in the R.o.C races at the Point. The race winner of the 75 lapper will earn $4,000.
