Rain forces more schedule changes at Penn Can

RAIN FORCES MORE SCHEDULE CHANGES AT PENN CAN

Penn Can Speedway in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania just can’t seem to shake the rain as the speedway was forced to cancel another program because of the weather conditions and wet grounds. This has forced some scheduling changes and one very important addition to the 2008 schedule.

The URC Sprint Series rainout Friday has been rescheduled for Friday August 8th. The popular sprinters will return with the same program originally scheduled including heats, B-Main, Dash, and a twenty five lap feature event.

The next important schedule change has the Tuesday July 1st mid-week program being rescheduled for Friday September 19th. The ROC Sportsman will be in action along with the super stocks, four cylinders, IMCA Empire Series, and added to the event will be a STAR series race for the modifieds.

This Friday the great people at Pump-N-Pantry will sponsor the night of racing. The modifieds, late models, sportsman, super stocks, pure stocks, and four cylinders will all be in action. Because of the three rain outs, it has been decided that regular points will be awarded in all division rather than championship points as in the past. The speedway is working to give all competitors a fair chance at winning the point championship.

The July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza will also have a slight change. The STAR modified race originally scheduled has been moved to Friday September 19th. The modifieds will now compete in the Firecracker 44. A forty four lap event paying $1500 to win. Regular handicapping will be used and regular speedway points will be awarded. The event is open to all modified race teams.

Please check the web site at www.penncan.com for all the updated schedule revisions. There have been some additions and deletions from the original schedule to give all divisions as many nights of racing as possible.
