Storms Halt MACS Racing Action at Sharon Speedway
Hartford, OH June 21, 2008 What started out as a beautiful June afternoon turned into a dark storm filled evening forcing Sharon Speedway and MACS Late Model officials to cancel the "Triton 50" that was scheduled at the Speedway on Saturday, June 21st.

The MACS Late Models have been rescheduled for Saturday, August 23rd. That evening fans will see six divisions in action as the MACS Series will be added to the racing card that features the Warren Harley-Davidson 410 Sprint Cars, the Gibson-Governor Big Block Modifieds, the Tom's Sewer and Drain Service E-Mods, the Tight-Seal Glass Block Pure Stocks and the Limited Sprints.

Rainchecks from the MACS event will be honored on Saturday, August 23rd and they can also be used for the World of Outlaws Late Model event scheduled for Saturday, July 26th.
"We were watching the radar in the late afternoon and the storms were starting coming off of Lake Erie," stated Race Director Karl Brest. "It was our hope that the storms would break up as they often do when they get further inland however that was not the case. While we certainly hated to pull the plug on the MACS show we did not want to put the drivers and fans in any danger with the strong thunderstorms and high winds that were in the area."

In racing action completed before the rains came Doug Horton set the fast time for the 40 car MACS Late Model field. In addition Jason Scoville and Guy Griffin were victorious in the two Limited Sprint heat race events.

The month of June will conclude at Sharon Speedway next Saturday, June 28th. In addition to "Fantastic Five" racing action it will be Pure Stock Autograph Night. The second of the Speedway's "County Nights" will be featured with residents of Mahoning County, OH and Crawford County, PA being admitted to the grandstands for just $5.00. The Home Depot Kids Crew will also meet prior to the evening's racing activities.

Sharon Speedway is located at the intersection of Routes 7 and 305 in Hartford, OH and is just a short drive from both Pittsburgh and Cleveland. "Buckle Up and Hang On" as Sharon Speedway brings you Saturday Night Racing at its finest!!!
