SATURDAY NIGHT SERIES RETURNS JUNE 28 -- PICNIC RESCHEDULED
MECHANICSBURG, PA -- Saturday Night Series racers and fans are
looking to complete a 4-0 month of June in their constant battle with
the weather when racing resumes on the 28th at 7:00.
After losing three of the first six programs of 2008 to the
elements, three consecutive Saturday night races have been completed in
June and hopefully the weather will cooperate one more time this week,
so the Saturday Night Series can close the month with a perfect record.
Once again the Sutliff Auto Group super sportsman cars will
headline the four-division program which will also include the A. J.'s
late models, the L. B. Smith Ford street stock and the Credit Connection
4-cylinder stock cars.
The Picnic in the Park, originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon
has been rescheduled. The picnic will now be held on Saturday, July 26,
which will set up a fun night for families planning to attend the races,
since that will also be the annual Kids Night. Further details about
Kids Night will be forthcoming.
Following a full month of June, the Saturday Night Series racers
will get a night off on July 5. With Cindy Rowe Auto Glass Pennsylvania
Sprint Speed Week in progress, there will be no racing at Williams Grove
on July 5.
Coming into this week's program only one repeat winner has emerged
in each of the top three SNS divisions.
Opening Day winner Paul Miller won his second feature of the season
in the nightcap of the sportsman Twin 20s last Saturday. Tyler
Armstrong has two victories in the late model division.
In the street stock division King Kory Sites won the first two
features of the season, but has been shut out of victory lane for the
first three weeks of June. Jim Salisbury, Bob Gutshall and Doug Hoffman
won the last three street stock features.
