Full night of racing plus fireworks Saturday at Mercer; all veterans, scouts, & Butler County residents admitted free

Mercer, PA.Mercer Raceway Park's annual American Patriot Night presented by Walt's of Mercer Plaza will be held at the track again this Saturday night, June 28. A complete program of Luxaire Heating & Cooling Sprint Cars, Tire Express Modifieds, McElwain Motors FASTRAK Late Models, Big Daddy's Speed Center Mod Lites, and the M&D Paving Mini Stocks will be on the racing card at 7 p.m. To compliment the night, a spectacular fireworks display will be put on after sunset to celebrate the upcoming Independence Day holiday.

For the fourth straight year a free Butler County Night will admit all residents of the county into the grandstands for free general admission free. A valid driver's license or identification card is required for adults showing a city in Butler County. All accompanying children will be admitted free as well. The promotion is presented by new marketing partner McClymonds Supply & Transit and promoted once again by Armstrong.

For the ninth consecutive year, all veterans of war and active servicemen will be admitted free into the grandstands with identification. In the past, around 200 veterans have enjoyed the night as a guest of Mercer Raceway Park. Also, all scouts in uniform will be granted free admission.

"We always enjoy hosting American Patriot Night," stated owner Vicki Emig. "Our fireworks show is always enjoyed by many and it's a perfect night to have the veterans, scouts, and Butler County residents as our guests. The night just keeps getting bigger and bigger every year and we have to thank Armstrong for helping us to promote it and thrilled to see Walt's of Mercer Plaza and McClymonds on board this year."

After the sixth rain out of the season last Saturday night, Mercer Raceway Park is hoping for better weather this Saturday night. Current point leaders are Arnie Kent (New Castle, Pa.)-Sprint Cars, Lonny Riggs (Volant, Pa.)-Modifieds, Frank Guidace (Mercer, Pa.)-FASTRAK Late Models, Todd Canter (Warren, Ohio)-Mod Lites, and Dan McEwen (Mercer, Pa.)-Mini Stocks.

Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. and grandstands at 4:30, hot laps are at 6:15, and racing begins at 7. Adult admission is $11. Students 6-15 are $5. Children five and under are always free. The family pass, which admits mom, dad, and up to four kids 6-15, is $25. Pit passes are $25.

McClymonds Supply & Transit has been supplying first class assistance since 1945 delivery logistic service within a 300-mile radius of western Pennsylvania and offers products such as quality sand, gravel, limestone, and other aggregate materials. Mercer Raceway Park is located minutes from both Interstate 79 and 80 just off Route 19 on Fairground Road in Mercer, Pa.
