FONDA , NY – On Saturday, June 28 Morris Ford Mercury and Snapple will sponsor Veterans Night at the Track of Champions, Fonda Speedway. On the racing card will be all regular divisions along with a Giant Fireworks display. Starting time for the racing action will be 6:00 p.m.
Adding to the Fonda Speedway racing program on Saturday June 28th will be the 3rd Annual Hondo Classic. On this special night the pro stock feature will be dedicated to the memory of Hondo Carpenter one of its most popular competitors who lost his life on July 4, 2005 in an ATV accident.
There will also be a Meet & Greet with many of the Fonda Speedway drivers who will be on hand to sign autographs for the racing fans so come out and meet your favorite driver!
As the summer months go on people think more and more about the point standings at the track and currently in the Modified division Bobby Varin and Pat Ward are tied for the point lead with 416 each followed by Ronnie Johnson with 380, Dave Camara with 364, Jack Johnson with 350, and defending Track Champion Matt DeLorenzo with 330.
In the Sportsman division defending Track Champion David Towns leads the way with 376 points followed by Luke Munroe with 366, John Scarborough with 354, Mark Kislowski with 338, and John McAuliffe with 330.
Kenny Gates is the Pro Stock division point leader with 366 followed by Roy Fifield with 352, Nick Stone with 336, Kenny Martin Jr. with 318, and Chip Smith with 312.
Defending IMCA Track Champion Jeremy Cramer leads the way in the IMCA division points with 262 followed in the top five by Beau Ballard with 257, Jim Cramer and Aaron Jacobs are tied with 248, Kevin Buff with 243, and Jeff Jones with 241.
