Race of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour swings back into action on Tuesday July 8th at Five Mile Point Speedway

RACE OF CHAMPIONS DART DIRT MODIFIED TOUR SWINGS BACK INTO ACTION ON TUESDAY JULY 8TH AT THE FIVE MILE POINT SPEEDWAY

Kirkwood, NY … After nearly a two month break the Race of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour swings back into action this Tuesday night, July 8th at the Five Mile Point Speedway. On tap for the Modifieds is a 75 lap all green flag laps feature paying $4,000 to win and they will be joined by the Race of Champions Dart Dirt Sportsman Tour.

The first two events this year for the Race of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour have seen plenty of excitement in both great racing shows. Back in March Rick Laubach won the Insinger Race Fuels RoC Icebreaker 50 worth $7,200 at the Selinsgrove Speedway. On Mother’s Day at the Utica – Rome Speedway Danny Johnson took home the top prize of $10,000 by winning the Victoria 200.

Many of the top driving talents in racing today will be converging on Five Mile Point on Tuesday July 8th. Last year in this race Billy Decker raced to an impressive victory and he will be back to defend the race winners crown. Decker will be joined by his team mates Pat Ward, who is the defending Tour champion and teenage sensation Larry Wight.

Also expected on this evening are Tour regulars Rick Laubach, Jerry Higbie, Jr., Jeff Rudalavage, Steve Paine, David Van Horn, Jr., Stewart Friesen, and a host of others. The outsiders will be racing against some of the toughest weekly competition in racing today. As Five Mile Point regulars Brian “ The Dream “ Weaver, Brent Wilcox, JR Hurlburt, Chris Ostrowsky, Glenn Knapp, Jr., James Cornell, Carl Nagel, and Mike Colsten will be on hand defending their home turf.

After two races the Race of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour point standings sees defending Tour champion Pat Ward on top by 17 points over Rick Laubach. Billy Decker is third in points four behind Laubach and 21 behind Ward. Jeff Rudalavage is fourth in points and Steve Paine is fifth in points, just two points behind Rudalavage.

The top 15 in points look like; Pat Ward – 120, Rick Laubach – 103, Billy Decker – 99, Jeff Rudalavage – 70, Steve Paine – 68, David Van Horn, Jr. – 67, Stewart Friesen – 66, Willy Decker – 63, Mike Colsten – 61, Brett Hearn – 60, Danny Johnson – 60, Billy Van Pelt – 55, Tim Fuller – 53, Larry Wight – 52, and Jimmy Davis – 50.

Gates open at 5 p.m. on Tuesday July 8th with hot laps beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the first heat gets green flagged at 7:30 p.m. sharp.
