Cornwall, On – Sunday, June 29, 2008 – Martin Bélanger – It was the Summer Sizzler night as the Green Mamba was in town to burn a car down plus a complete program including 25 laps for Semi-Pros. The problem is that Mother Nature decided to cool the night as the program was cancelled.
Only two heats could be completed and the first Semi-Pro qualifier was on the track when the skies opened up and it came down hard as there was also lightning and heavy winds. The officials decided to cancel tonight’s show. We advise the fans that were present tonight, to keep their tickets, as they will be good for next week’s show.
Next week will be the 66,000 feat of Pro-Stock night with the second race of the Mohawk Race Parts and Accessories series race for Pro-Stock as they will get a 50-lap feature race plus a complete race program for the other categories. The rookies will have double features with this week’s 12-lap plus next week’s 25 lapper. The Semi-Pro will also have a 25-lap feature race.
In two weeks, one of the biggest shows of the year will be in town as the Big-Blocks will be here for the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT Series for their annual visit. All the big names from the DIRTcar Series will be here. Come and see the Brett Hearn, Billy Decker, Alan Johnson, Matt Sheppard and the other stars compete in a 100-lap feature race.
