Heart and Stroke Foundation night this Friday at Edelweiss Speedway



Cantley, PQ – Martin Bélanger – This coming Friday July 4th, that Edelweiss Speedway will have the Heart and Stroke Foundations fundraiser. A huge program is on the schedule



It will be the first edition of the Simone 50 in the modified category as they will have a 50-lap feature race which will also be a Syracuse Qualifier. This race was named in Simone Belhau`s honour who passed away last summer with heart problems. She was the wife of Serge Lagacé, promoter of Edelweiss Speedway.



Along with this big feature, the Semi-Pro class will also to be watched has it will be the second edition of the Street Stock Challenge, many outsiders will be at Edelweiss to compete against the local runners in a 35-lap feature race. Last year’s event attracted nearly 30 cars. The Mod-Lite and 4 cylinders will also be in competition along with a kid’s tire race during intermission time.



This event is to help the Heart and Stroke Foundation to gather some funds. Edelweiss Speedway will collect money by 2 ways. 1 dollar of each entry on the fundraiser night will go to the foundation. The Speedway is committed to equal each entry. It will be a total of 2$ for each fan that will go to the foundation.



People will also be able to buy a heart sticker courtesy of JGV Design for 5$. The person, who buys a heart, will be able to choose the modified driver that he thinks will win the 50-lap feature race. The car that will get the most hearts, will receive a gift certificate worth 150$ for the Vieux-Duluth. A 50/50 ticket will be given for every heart purchase; buyers will have the chance to win the prize money at the end of the night. Everyone that chose the winner will receive a coupon that will be redeemable against a soft-drink and hot-dog on the July 18 night. Your contribution could become very profitable!
