Weedsport, NY – July 7, 2008 – By Dan Kapuscinski, Cayuga County Fair Speedway PR and Promotions Coordinator

This Sunday, July 13th it’s Bud Light Night at the Races with Kid’s Fun Laps presented by K&S Carwash. Bring the kids to the Speedway for their chance to ride around the racetrack in a real race car.

The DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, DIRTcar Street Stocks, BattleKarz, and NY Modified Midgets will be in action starting at 7pm.

With the addition of Kid’s Fun Laps to the schedule, the pre-race agenda will be moved up 30 minutes. The pit area will open Sunday at 3:30pm, with hot laps scheduled for 5:35pm. After the driver’s meeting at 6pm, all full-fender drivers will be asked to report to the Speedway to participate in the Fun Laps parade.

Personal Seat Licenses continue to be available. Along with your personalized seat, you will also receive four DIRTcar “5-Packs.” Each 5pak coupon is good for (1) admission to all regular season events. For special events, each coupon can be used as a $12 credit towards admission.

Providing another great deal for fans, single purchases of “5-Pack” tickets can be purchased for $48.

Tickets for all regular season events will be made available at the gate. Adult general admission is set at $12, $10 for Seniors (Age 65+), $5 for children (Ages 10-14), and those under the age of 9 are FREE.

When the Cayuga County Fair Speedway was last in action for stock car racing on June 22nd, the Big-Block Modifieds returned to Cayuga County with defending track champion Jimmy Phelps picking up the win over Matt Sheppard. With the win Phelps now takes sole possession of the Big-Block point lead over Alan Johnson, Sheppard, Steve Paine, and Justin Haers.

The DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds saw a sixth first time winner pull into victory lane that night in June. Todd Town picked up the win ahead of Kevin Ridley in the 25-lap main event. Ridley now retakes the point lead over Tim Currier, Jeremy Pitcher, James Friesen, and Tom Juhl.

Defending track champion Nick Rizzo returned to victory lane on the 22nd in the DIRTcar Street Stock finale. Wayne Ellison continues to lead the way in the standings, with Rizzo now up to second ahead of Steve Woodworth, Mark Alnutt, and Mike Welch.

Bill Werner garnered his first BattleKarz main event win of the season that final night in June. Nick Werner currently leads the standings over Barb Amadon, while Bill Werner, Dave Nagldinger, and Karl Werner all sit in a tie for third.
