$10 FAMILY NIGHT & FREE VENANGO COUNTY NIGHT SATURDAY AT MERCER AS 5-DIVISION RACING RETURNS PLUS KIDS BIKE RACES

Mercer, PA.After two rainouts and last Friday's "Small Car National Open", Mercer Raceway Park hopes to resume weekly "Saturday Night Live" five-division racing this Saturday night, July 12. On the card are the Luxaire Heating & Cooling Sprint Cars, Tire Express Modifieds, McElwain Motors FASTRAK Late Models, Big Daddy's Speed Center Mod Lites, and M&D Paving Mini Stocks will take to the track with racing at 7 p.m. It's Dean Diary Corp. Night.
The fourth $10 Family Night presented by Auto Service Express & Armstrong will highlight one of Saturday's promotions. Mom, dad, and as many kids 15 and under will be admitted for just $10, which is more than a $15 savings off the already reduced family pass!
"Our $10 Family Nights have been great for us," explained 10th year owner Vicki Emig. "We attract so many new people and those that otherwise may have not been able to attend. When the weather is conducive we always have great turnouts. We'll be having another one on August 9 too."
Saturday's second promotion is Free Venango County Night presented by Allegheny Toyota/Scion. All residents of Venango County will be admitted free into the grandstands for general admission by simply presenting ID showing a Venango County address. All children 15 and under accompanied by a Venango County adult will also be admitted free.
"The free Venango County Night is always one of our biggest promotions," acknowledged Emig. "Unfortunately we lost our original date of May 31, but didn't want to lose this great promotion. We get great support every week from race fans from Venango County, but this is also an opportunity for us to attract new fans to The Park and those that simply may not have been able to attend otherwise. It gives us a chance to showcase our great racing to residents of Venango County for them at no charge! I have to thank Allegheny Toyota/Scion for returning for the second straight year to make this night possible."
Along with the full compliment of racing, parents will want to bring the bikes for the kids as it's the second of three kids' bike race nights presented by Eat 'n Park Restaurant and Ray's Racing Collectibles. Kids 12 and under will be able to participate in bike races on the speedway during intermission. Helmets are required.
Current point leaders are Arnie Kent (New Castle, Pa.)-Sprint Cars, Lonny Riggs (Volant, Pa.)-Modifieds, Frank Guidace (Mercer, Pa.)-FASTRAK Late Models, Todd Canter (Warren, Ohio)-Mod Lites, and last Friday's career first winner Dan McEwen (Mercer, Pa.)-Mini Stocks.
