DEMORESTVILLE SOS DRIVER IS HOLDING HIS OWN AND THREATENING TO TAKE OVER..... Defending SOS Series Champion, Glenn Styres, the Oshweken Flyer, has his work cut out for him to keep the lead coming into the Clintar Groundskeeping Services SOS Sprint event this Saturday July 12th, at Brighton Speedway. His lead is a mere one point over Demorestville driver Chris Jones. Jones finished 6th at Brighton in June, after a 4th place in the season opener. Those two results, combined with two 5th place finishes at Brockville & Humberstone respectively, leave Jones sitting 2nd in SOS points. Two drivers, Warren Mahoney and Adam West are tied for 3rd, only 22 points out of the lead, while Keith Dempster rounds out the top 5, 33 points behind Styres. Styres, Mahoney, and Dempster are all 2-time SOS champions, West has 1 SOS title and Jones is in his first full season of sprint car competition, after switching from his Modified mid season last year. All eyes will be on Chris as he adds "homegrown" grassroots motorsport racing to an already class act of Sprint Drivers.
Saturday's event at Brighton will feature a full program of SOS Sprint Car heat races, a Dash for Cash presented by Larry's Towing, and a 20 lap feature event ~ plus Brighton's Canadian Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks, Stingers, and a fireworks display provided by Mystical Distributing!
Pit Gates open @ 2:00p.m., Spectator Gates Open @ 5:00p.m., Racing @ 7:00p.m.
Tickets: $18 Adults, $14 Youth and Seniors, $4 Children Ages 7-12, FREE Children Ages 6 and Under, $42 Family Pass
