Mother Nature Dampens Christmas in July Celebration
Hartford, OH July 12, 2008 The calendar indicated is was a hot mid-July evening but it was "Christmas in July" at the Sharon Speedway on Saturday July 12th. Unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans as she rained on the Christmas celebration before any of the evening's feature action could be completed.
As a result of the rain, the schedule for the next several weeks has been altered. The July 19th "Fantastic Five" program will kick off with the Warren Harley-Davidson 410 Sprint Car feature, the Tom's Sewer and Drain Service E-Mod feature and the Gibson-Governor Insurance Agency Big Block Modifieds. A complete "Fantastic Five" event will then take place.
Fans are reminded that the E-Mod Autograph session will be also be held. In addition all residents of Columbiana County, OH and Butler County, PA will be admitted to the grandstand for just $5.00. It will also be Scout Night and Kids Bike Night.
In heat race action that was completed before the rains came Shawn Minor and Jack Sodeman Jr. captured the Warren Harley-Davidson 410 Sprint heat races. Brad Rapp and Rob Kristyak took the checkered flag in Gibson-Governor heat race action. Bill Hanna, Alan Dellinger and Stan Woomer were victorious in the Tight Seal Glass Block Pure Stock heat races for the 25-car field. Guy Griffin and Brandon Spithaler won the Limited Sprint heat race events. Dwayne Clay and Alan Dellinger won the heat wins in the E-mod prelims.
Saturday, July 26th will find the World of Outlaws Late Models dropping in for their annual visit to the Hartford, OH oval. In addition to the exciting Late Model action the Tight Seal Glass Block Pure Stocks will also be in competition.
Fans are also reminded that if they are one of the first 250 persons to pre-order tickets for the July 26th World of Outlaw Late Model show they will receive a free pit pass.
In addition those fans who are unable to use their Firecracker 100 raincheck at the Lernerville Speedway on July 29th can bring their raincheck to the July 26th World of Outlaws Late Model show and receive a $5.00 discount on the admission price.
The month of August will kick off on Saturday August 2nd will kick off with the Tight Seal Glass Block Pure Stock and Limited Sprint features from July 12th. A complete "Fantastic Five" program will also be on the card. In addition the annual "Gold Rush" will take place.
"Buckle Up and Hang On" as the next several weeks at the Sharon Speedway will be filled with lots of exciting wheel to wheel racing action.
