Rain Wins Again at Cayuga County Fair Speedway on Bud Light Night at the Races
Weedsport, NY – July 13, 2008 – By Dan Kapuscinski, Cayuga County Fair Speedway PR and Promotions Coordinator
A long band of heavy rain showers pushed through the central New York area well through the afternoon hours on Sunday, forcing the cancellation of Bud Light Night at the Races presented by K&S Carwash.
“The Speedway took on a lot of water throughout the day,” said General Manager, Jack Deery. “With an unfavorable forecast into the early evening, the rain we took on early would have been too much to overcome.”
The DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, DIRTcar Street Stocks, BattleKarz and NY Modified Midgets were scheduled to take the green flag at 7pm. Kid’s Fun Laps were also in the evening’s line-up.
Now the schedule turns to Rolling Wheels Raceway Park next Sunday, July 20th for the Valley Tire/Coke Summer Showdown presented by We Care Holdings. The DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, and DIRTcar Street Stocks will be on hand with racing beginning at 7pm. That evening will also feature “Salute to Youth Soccer Night”, as all kids entering the Speedway wearing a soccer uniform will be admitted FREE.
The next event at Cayuga County Fair Speedway will be Sunday, July 27th when A-Verdi Containers presents the Patriots American Sprint Car Series. The DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, CNYMS Sprints, DIRTcar Street Stocks, and BattleKarz will take the green at 7pm. That night will also feature “Dollar Dog Night at the Races.”
