DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds Highlight Honeoye Auto Parts Night at the Races Saturday at Canandaigua Speedway

This Saturday, July 19th its Honeoye Auto Parts Night at the Races at Canandaigua Speedway. All of the cars and stars of the DIRTcar Big-Block Modified ranks will return to the Land of Legends for another action packed night of racing.
The DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, DIRTcar Street Stocks, PureStox, and WNYR 98.5 FM Crazy Chicks-n-Cars will take the green at 7pm.
The Pit area will open at 4pm Saturday, with the grandstand gates swinging open at 5pm.
Personal Seat Licenses continue to be available. Along with your personalized seat, you will also receive four DIRTcar 5-Packs. Each 5pak coupon is good for (1) admission to all regular season events. For special events, each coupon can be used as a $12 credit towards admission.
Providing another great deal for fans, single purchases of 5-Pack tickets can be purchased for $48.
Tickets for all regular season events will be made available at the gate. Adult general admission is set at $12, $10 for Seniors (Age 65+), $5 for children (Ages 10-14), and those under the age of 9 are FREE.
Pit admission for DIRTcar Northeast members will be $20, while non-members will be admitted for $25.
Last Saturday night, Todd Burley took his first career Big-Block Modified win at Canandaigua. Burley passed early race leader Derrick Podsiadlo on his way to victory in the no. 89b machine. Shannon Whaley, Vinnie Vitale, and Chuck Bower completed the top five runners.
The Big-Block Modified standings are very close at the top of the list. Gary Tomkins holds a slim 14-point lead over Steve Paine, while Matt Sheppard sits third just 41-markers out of the lead. Charlie Donk and Jeff Brownell Jr. complete the top five drivers in the Championship standings.
Hard charger Steve Gray visited victory lane at Canandaigua for the third time this season in the DIRTcar Sportsman Modified division last Saturday. Canadian contender AJ Lewis ran a tremendous race, coming home with a runner-up finish. Kevin Ridley now holds a 70-point lead on Dan Wiesner and Todd Henderson in the Championship standings. Nick Guererri sits fourth 1-point out of second, while Gray rounds out the top five.
Gray was fined and granted last place points (24) after a rules infraction in post race tech Saturday night.
Mike Welch and George LaVare Jr. took victories in the DIRTcar Street Stock and PureStox divisions. With his third consecutive win Welch takes over the lead in the Street Stock standings, while Bryan Faulkner takes the top spot in the PureStox division.
