Walker Arthur continues quest for $25,000 bonus this weekend at Virginia Motor Speedway

Jamaica, VA – When Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway returns back to action this Saturday July 19th to host Truckin Thunder / Revere Gas Night at the Races the stakes get a little higher. The night’s events will include the rescheduled Round 2 of the Victory Lap Late Model $25,000 Challenge presented by BB&T.

Round 2 of the Victory Lap Late Model $25,000 Challenge presented by BB&T will see Walker Arthur attempting to continue his quest towards a $25,000 bonus. The divisions current point leader will have plenty of driver’s trying to spoil his party and give themselves a chance at a big bonus payday as well, setting this event up to be one for the ages.

The four race series, now in its sixth year of existence, offers a bonus program for multiple wins. Since the inception of the series it has been very difficult to even win one of the challenge races. Just in the last two years alone the series has seen eight different winners in the eight series races.

The four race series pays a $5,000 bonus to anyone who can win two of the four events, giving two drivers a chance at taking home a $5000 bonus in the four race series. Only one driver in the five year history of the series has taken home a $5000 bonus, that being Brian Staton of Chesapeake, VA in 2005.

If someone is able to win three of the four events the bonus grows to $15,000. History will show it can be done as John Staton of Chesapeake, VA collected the $15,000 during the first year of the series in 2003.

And finally, Arthur is the only driver with a chance to pick up a cool $25,000 bonus for sweeping the four race series, picking up the win in round 1 of the series on April 19th. In the series five year existence the $25,000 bonus has never been paid.

After last week’s Victory Lap Late Model thriller fans are anxiously awaiting this week’s event that has more than just pride on the line, there could be big money awaiting someone.

Also scheduled during the night’s event are the Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and New Generation Racing Sprint Car divisions.
