Another Runner-Up for Nick Mulheim and Crew.
With Wayne County Speedway Nick Mulheim and crew were looking forward to a two race weekend for the first time of the year. Unfortunately Mother Nature stopped by and took that chance away with even more rain showers.
Friday evening the team made their standard trip to Lakeville Speedway to compete on the 3/8 mile speedplant. Starting third in the heat Nick was chomping at the bit to get yet another heat race victory. Sliding into second before the first lap was complete Nick had his sights on the 59 of Kirk Jefferies. Trying both the high and low side of the track the 38m was unable to get by for the win, finishing up in second.
Outside front row; that is where the Mulheim Motorsports entry would begin the final portion of the evening. With the green flag out Nick made his move for the lead immediately. With the bottom of the track the place to be he settled into second for the next couple of laps keeping pace with the leader. A short while later down the front stretch the 38m was able to get by the leader but it was only short lived as he had to take evasive action after being dive bombed going into one. Still right behind the leader another run for the point was taken a few laps later but after being driven to the infield Nick knew that while second doesnt pay as good; an unbent racecar is much less expensive. After finishing second he now has a three race lead over second place in the championship standings.
Mulheim Motorsports would like to thank Mulheim Hardwood Frames, Fisher Performance, CAMS, and Rankl and Ries Motorcars
