Plattsburgh, NY – Four prominent drivers, including World of Outlaws Late Model champion Tim McCreadie of Watertown, NY have filed entries for the Akwesasne Casino Big-Block/Small-Block Challenge at Airborne Speedway Wednesday, August 6.
McCreadie, the son of DIRT Motorsports NorthEast Hall of Famer “Barefoot” Bob McCreadie, recently finished second in a World of Outlaws event at Autodrome Granby. He won the 20th annual Chili Bowl Midget nationals in Tulsa. OK in 2006.
Also entered are Bobby Santos II of Franklin, MA, his sister NorthEastern Midget Association star Erica Santos and Todd Stone of Middlebury, VT, a leading competitor on the CVRA dirt circuit and a past winner of the Airborne Spring Green 100.
Bobby Santos, 22, is considered one of the best USAC pavement drivers in the nation. In 2006, Santos won $50,000 at Stafford Motor Speedway (CT) by sweeping both ends of the Carquest Big One, driving both a sprint car and a midget. In November 2007, Santos won the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour World Series event at Thompson Speedway (CT). Erica Santos, 24, recently became the first female winner in NorthEastern Midget Association (NEMA) history with her victory at Stafford. The Santos’ grandfather Bob Santos raced at Airborne Speedway in a Modified in the late 50’s.
Stone is currently fourth in points at Albany-Saratoga and Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Fair Haven, VT.
