Brockville Ontario SpeedwayRelease 17-2008July 19, 2008 Dingwall Double Dips at Brockville BROCKVILLE-It was a night to remember for Brockville's Cole Dingwall. The third generation racer recorded a perfect night at Brockville Ontario Speedway taking both ends of a Sportsman division twin bill and adding a heat win for a little exclamation point to show his domination before a capacity crowd. Dingwall recorded his first win of the night taking the 25 lap feature rained out from a week ago after a great late battle with youngster Dylan Evoy. Evoy tried lap after lap to go around the outside for the lead, but each time Dingwall would fight back from the inside and finally win the sprint to the finish line for the victory. Luke Whitteker was third followed by a hard charging Chris Raabe who came through the field three times after being involved in a multi car crash in turn 4 that involved almost half of the 24 car field. Randy Gaudet rounded out the top five. Things were a little tougher in the second 25 for Dingwall, at least it looked that way as the 96 car started 15th. However before 10 laps were complete Cole was back at the front of the field again. Raabe moved into second spot but had no answer for Dingwall's speed this night. In victory lane, the double winner thanked his brother Kyle who made use of a week off for the Modifieds to do some changes on his brother's car that made such a difference in the results. Chris Herbison, one of the cars that sustained the most damage in the first 25 lapper made some rapid repairs and managed a strong third place run followed by birthday boy Zeke McKeown and Whitteker. The Empire Super Sprints made their first appearance of the year at the BOS. The Spint Car pilots raved about the extra room in the turns and Justin Barger put it to good use. After a quick caution on the first lap, the rest of the 25 lapper went wire to wire green with Barger leading the entire distance from the outside pole for the victory. Local favourite Ricky Wilson started fourth and got to second spot but not close enough to threaten the winner. Lance Yonge was third followed by Steve Poirier who started dead last after flipping his primary car in the dash. The Rookie division also ran a twin bill to make up for last week's rain out with Josh Kane taking the opener and leading for awhile in the night cap before Gerry Oszczkiewicz blew by to take the win in the second 16 lap event. Bob Ray was bridesmaid in both events with the Big O third in the opener in front of Dwight Feltham and Chris Bakker. Kane settled for third in the evening closer with early leader Steve Barber and Mike Gaucher in tow. Paul Billings blasted past early leader Jason Powers after a mid race restart to grab the 12 lap Vintage feature. Brockville Ontario Speedway returns to action next Saturday night July 26th, with double features for both the 358 Modifieds and the Street Stocks as well as the always popular bag race.
