$777 Guaranteed, With $700 in Bonuses Available to Sportsman Trifecta 45 Winner at Canandaigua Speedway

As a part of Ontario Fair Week at Canandaigua Speedway, the DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds will compete in the “Trifecta 45.” The event will consist of three 15-lap segments, with an inversion at the completion of each of the first two segments. The overall winner’s share of $777 will be awarded to the first driver across the line in segment three.
Track points will be awarded based on the finishing order in the third and final segment.
Several bonuses are also on the line, which could push the winner’s share to nearly $1,500. Bonuses of $100 will be awarded to the winner of each of the first two segments. On top of that, another special bonus will be offered to the winner(s) of segments one and two.
The winner(s) of the first two segments will be given the opportunity to accept the “Deal or No Deal Bonus” by starting last in segment three. If that driver comes through the field to win, a minimum of $500 will be added to their winnings.
“Being that this event is taking place during the Ontario County Fair we wanted to spice things up a bit,” said General Manager, Jack Deery. “We had a special event for the Modifieds earlier this season, and now we want to give the Sportsman their chance. It should make for an exciting night of racing.”
The DIRTcar Street Stocks, PureStox, and New York Modified Midgets will also be on the racing card with racing beginning at 7pm. Pit gates will open at 4pm, with the grandstand gates swinging open at 5pm.
Currently Kevin Ridley holds a 70-point advantage on Steve Gray, a three-time feature winner this season, in the Sportsman Modified ranks. Dan Wiesner, Nick Guererri, and Daryl Hilkert complete the top five in the standings.
Todd Henderson rides sixth in the Championship order, joining Gray as the only other multiple feature winner in 2008 with two victories.
