Fultonville, NY - Jeff Sheely started his 2008 season with a bang, but the bang he had hoped for as he destroyed a car in a pileup on April 25th. Jeff would be right back at the Speedway after borrowing Doug Sheely's ride, and replacing his own.
P.J. Bleau and Tim Mayne would lead the field to the green flag with Bleau jumping out to the lead. Sheely would go right to work from his 4th place starting spot splitting Richie Price and Tim Mayne to take over 3rd place. Working the topside Sheely would make his way past Al McCoy and set his sights on the leader. Back in the pack Jeff Brownell Jr, Craig Hanson and Jamike Sowle and Randy Hotaling would battle as they tried to make their way through the field while Sheely would slip past Bleau to take the lead. With the race continuing green Sheely would start to stretch his lead while Bleau would fade as McCoy and Price would slip past. McCoy would try to chase down Sheely in traffic but Sheely held his own. With 10 laps to go Sheely would start to slow and McCoy would begin to close in. Sheely would state in victory lane he lost his brakes with 10 to go. Brakes or no brakes Sheely would cruise to the victory, his first career modified victory at the Ridge. McCoy would be second followed by Richie Price, Randy Hotaling, and Jamike Sowle.
Robert Gray and Chris McCoy would lead the Budget Sportsman field to the green flag with Gray jumping out to the early lead. Gray would be strong on the point as the battle shaped up for second place. John Constantino, Joe Ketchum, and Angela Hoard would be right together with Korey Wilder and Alex Alberti in tow. Constantino would fall out of the race with suspension troubles leaving the battle to Ketchum and Hoard. Ketchum would use the outside of the speedway to finally clear Hoard for second and set his sights on Gray. Gray whos car was getting looser and looser would slip up the speedway in turn 2 opening the door for Ketchum. Ketchum would sweep past into the lead in turn 3 and never look back taking the victory. Alex Alberti would be second followed by Gray, Jeremiah Munson, and Hoard.
Ellis Shaffer and Jason Samrov would lead the Street Stock field to the green with Samrov taking the early lead with Shaffer in tow but Shaffers night would end swiftly after breaking an axle in turn 3 and spinning in front of the field. Dave Bayes was on the charge from his 8th place starting spot taking advantage of the Shaffer spin to move up. Bayes using the bottom of the speedway would take the lead from Samrov. Back in the pack Luke Horning was on the move. The car dubbed "Cadzilla" was working the high side of the speedway to perfection and quickly found itself on the back bumper of Bayes. Bayes car would get increasingly tighter as the race wore on and Horning would take advantage slipping by Bayes to take the lead. Bayes would stay with Horning but in the end couldn't muster a challenge as Luke Horning would take the victory. Bayes would be second followed by Darrell Older, Samrov, and Rob VanAernam.
Gregg Chamberlain and Pat McSpirit led the Cruiser feature to the start with McSpirit taking the early lead. McSpirit would be strong on the point until smoke started to show from his mount. McSpirit would leave the race with motor woes. Starting 4th Jamie Warner would charge to the front with Nathan Sitterly in tow while Kerry Hollenbeck would work his way into the mix. Hollenbeck would make a bold 3 wide move and take over the top spot. Hollenbeck looking for his 10th win on the season would try to run away but Sitterly would give chase. A late race yellow would give Sitterly one last shot but it would not be enough as Hollenbeck took the victory. Sitterly would be second followed by Warner, Laurie Fallis, and Eric Bonney.
