The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints in Invade Granby and Drummond.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – As the construction holidays draw to a close in the French-Speaking province of Quebec, the 25th Anniversary Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) makes it’s second of three visits to the two Autodromes, Granby and Drummond. The Aug. 1st. and 2nd events will also be an important part of the SMAC Magazine Canadian Invasion series with the Fondations 4 Saisons A-Mains paying $2.000 to win and $450 to start.
Back in June, it was local favorites that thrilled the hometown crowds as current ESS and SMAC point leader Steve Poirier picked up the victory at Granby with Alain Bergeron cracking the winners circle for the first time in three years with a triumph at Drummond. Both Quebec stars will be back looking to defend along with fellow mates in Michael Parent, Normand Beaudreault and Daniel Lampron. Also, fans can expect Quebec stars in the back-up mounts of both Poirier and Bergeron.
Other top names that will fill the pit log will be Lance Yonge, Justin Barger, Jeff Cook, Tim Kelly, Brian McDonald, Lee Ladouceur, Bubby Kerrick, Anthony Cain, Jared Zimbardi and Russ Bennett. Also, looking to make returns to ESS wars on this weekend will be Donny Sharp Jr., Kyle Drum and John Karklin Jr. who has relocated to North Carolina.
Plans are also underway to hold the first ever Walt’s Hobby Dash series event at Granby while Lampron himself will be picking up the sponsorship of the dash at Drummond. With the Lucas Oil Series for 358 modifieds off to Edelweiss, Brockville and Cornwall, the winged warriors will have top billing on both nights.
Granby, Drummond…The SMAC Magazine Canadian Invasion Series. It what has become tradition for 25 years, it will be excitement guaranteed…French Style!!
