Fultonville, NY - Fort Plain, New York's Korey WIlder might be a rookie to the Budget Sportsman class but the rookie left his learning curve by the wayside as the class tackled the Mohawk Valley 30 lap special.
Jay Lias and Steve Richardson would lead the Budget field to the green flag but the race was marred with a flurry of early caution flags. The worst wreck of the evening also took place as John Constantino would flip in turn 4 after contact with the wounded racer of Don Bellen. As the field finally found itself sorted out Angela Hoard would find herself on the lead while the battle raged on for second behind her. Jeremiah Munson, Joe Ketchum, WIlder, Alex Alberti and Aaron Jacobs would all be right together fighting for position. Wilder would find himself breaking free from the pack and into the second position and would start to close in on Hoard. Using the high side of the speedway he would swing past Hoard and into the lead while Hoard would slip back into the swarm battling for 3rd. As the laps wound down Wilder would encounter heavy traffic while Alex Alberti and Jeremiah Munson would move past Hoard into second and third. Wilder would work traffic like a seasoned veteran and take his second win of the season. Alberti would be second followed by Munson, Hoard, and Jacobs.
Mike Parodi would take the early lead in the modified feature with Tim Mayne in tow. Starting 10th Jeff Brownell Jr. was on the charge using the outside of the speedway to find his way to the front and take over the top spot. After starting 8th Craig Hanson would lock himself to the back bumper of Brownell and find himself in second but unable to stay with high flying leader. A late race yellow would give Hanson one last shot at Brownell. Using the bottom of the speedway Hanson would show Brownell a nose in turn 2 but could not complete the lap. The move would prompt Brownell to switch lanes running the bottom in turns 1 and 2 but the lane change would fail as the Waterloo, New York driver would spin causing a caution. On the restart Hanson would step awhile while Brownell charged from the back of the field. As the checkers flew he would make his way back to the 6th spot while the feature win went to Hanson. Jamike Sowle would be second followed by Josh Pieniazek, Randy Hotaling, and Jim Becker.
John Ketchum and Cliff Haslun would lead the Street Stocks to the feature start with Ketchum taking the early lead. An early yellow would bunch the field back up while on the restart Ketchum would encounter trouble, losing the driveshaft on the front stretch and sending the entire field scrambling. On the restart Rob VanAernam would assume the lead while 8th place starter Justin Knight would make his way to second behind VanAernam. Knight would work the bottom of turn 2 to wrestle the lead away from VanAernam. Points leader Chuck McSpirit was on the move after starting scratch on the field finding himself in third behind his Harry's Auto teammate VanAernam. As the laps wound down Knight would slip leaving the battle for second. At the line the win would go to Knight.VanAernam would hold off McSpirit for second while Brian Cosselman and Dave Bayes rounded out the top 5.
Shawn Morrison and Gregg Chamberlain would lead the Cruisers to the line with Chamberlain taking the early lead. Pat McSpirit in a borrowed ride after losing a motor last week would quickly move by Morrison into the second spot. Starting 7th Laurie Fallis would be on the move making her way into the 3rd position while Kerry Hollenbeck, the Cruiser points leader, was on the charge making his way into the top 5. As the race continued McSpirit would put pressure on Chamberlain slipping by on the bottom of turns 1 and 2. Fallis and Hollenbeck would follow him through. With no yellows the 15 laps of the feature would fly by and at the checkers the win would go to McSpirit. Laurie Fallis would hold onto second by a nose with Hollenbeck third. Chamberlain would hold on for fourth with Morrison rounding out the top 5.
