Thorold, Ontario (August 14) Avondale Food Stores are all about convenience with low prices.
On Saturday August 16th – so is Merrittville Speedway.
Race Fans can look forward to the night of the summer when Double Features are set for all 5 Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Divisions.
Also added to the Avondale Food Stores Night is the Meridian Credit Union Kids Club Box Car Races and the Konzelmann Estate Winery Enduro Qualifier accelerated by Niagara College – all delayed from August 9th’s CMH Sales and Leasing Night.
“What more could you ask for,” boasts (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell, adding, “ there’s something for everyone … the Enduro Cars will once again join our 5 divisions conveniently who will be running two feature events – and with our $10 Admission Ticket – definitely … low prices.”
Race fans will see two feature events for each of the Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Divisions – the L. St. Amand Enterprises 358 Modifieds, Original Pizza Logs Sportsman, Hoosier Stocks, Lucas Oil Open Wheel Lites and Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinders.
With the exception of the 358 Modifieds who were on the track when the rain came August 9th – there will be no qualifying heats. The second features will be lined up after each feature winner draws the number of cars to be inverted for the nite cap event.
“Approximately 40 Enduro Cars had checked in already,” revealed Bicknell, “hopefully all will make it back and who knows – maybe there could be some new entries … the same goes with the Box Cars … there were some real fine looking ‘hot rods’ on display throughout the grandstands prior to race time!”
In the first two Konzelmann Enduro Qualifiers accelerated by Niagara College , Jason Coutu (Zavitz Financial Strategies Night May 19th) and Tim McIntosh (Boltworks Piller’s $1 Hot Dog Night June 28th) each won with the two drivers making up the front row for the 100 that closes the season – Sunday September 7th.
August 16th’s Avondale Winner will start the 100 from third spot and should either of the Qualifier Winners win the 100 - Niagara College has accelerated their Victory by $200.
“ Niagara College continues to be # 1 in student satisfaction,” boasts (Merrittville Speedway GM) Erica Bicknell, adding, “and we are thrilled they are accelerating our Enduros.”
Should none of the three drivers come home #1 in the big event – the $200 will still be given away via a draw of starting positions.
“Preregistering now takes on a whole new meaning,” reveals Bicknell, “anyone that enters by September 1st – will be eligible for a chance at one of four $50 bonuses.”
