ANOTHER FULL NIGHT OF RACING AT THE WOODHULL RACEWAY ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 30.
NAPA Auto Parts and Knowles LP Gas to sponsor the night of action.
Cell Phones for Soldiers promotion as well as the NAPA 360 Late Model and the Morgan’s Auto Repair Street Stock Race of Champions events also on the card.
(Woodhull, NY) August 30, 2008 will be another block buster night of race action at the Woodhull Raceway. On the race track it will be a full night of race activity as a Regular Big 6 Show is scheduled along with the Annual NAPA 360 Late Model and Morgan’s Auto Repair Street Stock Race of Champion events where all of the 2008 feature winners in each respective division will let it all hang out in these two high dollar events.
Off the track the large contingent of Woodhull Raceway fans will be treated to a night of remembrance as the Manley Insurance Agency of Jasper is spearheading the Cell Phones for Soldiers promotion. A drop box will be located at the track and Woodhull fans, drivers and employees are asked to bring their old and unwanted cell phones for disposal. In turn, the cell phones will be sold to Cell Phones for Soldiers where pre-paid phone cards will then be distributed to men and women of the United States Military who are stationed abroad. To take things on step further, individuals who donate their unwanted cell phones can specifically ear mark a phone card for someone that they know who is in the military. It is a sure bet to be a win, win situation for everyone involved.
Matt Swearingen will be at the track prior to race time to perform for everyone’s listening pleasure. Swearingen, a former winner of both the Finger Lakes and Twin Tiers Idol Contests is one of the regions top Country talents
The participating NAPA Auto Parts Stores in and around the Southern Tier have embraced the Cell Phones for Soldiers promotion and drop boxes will be distributed at numerous locations within the Twin Tiers including Addison, Bath, Corning, Hornell, Lawrenceville and Wellsville. Representatives of many of the before named NAPA Stores will be on hand at Woodhull to sponsor the August 30 event as they will be joined by Knowles LP Gas of Addison. Knowles is returning after an earlier season rainout.
Those individuals donating phones at the track on August 30 will be eligible for prices throughout the evening.
NAPA has been the Official Parts Store of the Woodhull Raceway for many years and their involvement at the track runs very deep as not only does NAPA sponsor the 360 Late Model Division, but the blue and gold NAPA insignia can be found on numerous billboards and other signage around the track. NAPA also sponsors the pit area lap counter as well as the weekly NAPA Driver of the Week Award.
Plans also call for representatives of the local US Army recruiting agency in Hornell to attending the event complete will full displays, games and give-a-ways for the fans.
