RAIN SPOILS IROQUOIS POKER NIGHT AT OHSWEKEN
by Tommy Goudge (August 15, 2008) - Hot laps were just getting underway when once again rain spoiled a great card of dirt track racing at Ohsweken Speedway on Friday night. Iroquois Poker was the presenting sponsor for the evening, which was to include the Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Cars, ESSO Thunder Stocks, ESSO Mini-Stocks, and Friday Night Fun Stocks, plus the final autograph night of the season. A fine field was signed in for competition, but the rain prevented any of the 25 sprints, 21 Thunder Stocks, 20 Mini-Stocks, or 10 Friday Night Fun Stocks from visiting Engine Pro Racing Victory Lane. Ticket holders from Friday night can redeem their ticket stubs for free admission to the next regularly scheduled event at Ohsweken, and autograph night will also be rescheduled.
The deadline for ticket refunds from the rained-out World of Outlaws Sprint Car events July 22 and 23 has been extended. Originally scheduled to end on Friday, the processing of refunds will now continue until Thursday, August 21. Many options for ticket holders are available, including exchanging the tickets for reserved seats for the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals coming up on September 12 and 13.
