September is Sprint Car Month at Orange County Fair Speedway

SEPTEMBER IS SPRINT CAR MONTH AT ORANGE COUNTY FAIR SPEEDWAY



MIDDLETOWN, NY (August 15)……..Three nights of open-wheel sprint car racing headline Orange County Fair Speedway’s September schedule.



On Saturday, September 6, the 305 sprint cars of the Capital Region Sprint Car Agency (CRSA) take to the Middletown five-eighths-mile Hard Clay track, a makeup date for August 2 race meet that was rained out. The 600 Modifieds and a “Festival of Crashes” demolition derby are also on the evening’s program. Planet Wings (sprint cars) and Chet’s Garage (Festival of Crashes) are the night’s co-sponsors.



The following Saturday, September 13, E. Tetz & Sons, Inc. welcomes the 360 sprint cars of the United Racing Company (URC) for a complete program of qualifying races and a 25-lap feature. Sharing the billing with the URC sprinters are the Vintage Modifieds and the Sportsman stock cars. For the Sportsman, it’s the opening round of the Fulton Chevrolet Sportsman Challenge, a special two-race program awarding the overall winner with a new crate engine.



Sprint Car Month wraps up on Wednesday, September 24, when the mighty 410 sprint cars of the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws return to Middletown for the ir annual appearance on the lightning-fast Hard Clay. This is a makeup date for the May 18 race meet that fell to inclement wea the r. Phase two of the Fulton Chevrolet Sportsman Challenge replaces the 358 Modifieds that had been on the original schedule.



A special $5,000 E. Tetz & Sons WoO Challenge bonus will go to any independent sprint car driver who can win the feature race.



Sponsors for the World of Outlaws night include Advance Auto Parts, Quaker State Oil, Johnson Ford, and WRWD 107.3/99.3.



With track conditions the best in years, the one lap record of 16.836 seconds, set just last year by Kerry Madsen, is expected to be obliterated by a host of drivers, including current point leader Donny Schatz, second place Jason Meyers, third place Craig Dollansky, fourth Joey Saldana, and fifth Steve Kinser. Kinser, the WoO all-time winner and champion, has five Outlaw victories at Orange County .
