Ollie's Bargain Outlet 360 Challenge: Jason Johnson Wins Second Event, Goes for $50,000 Event Bonus at Williams Grove.
MOORESVILLE, NC (August 18, 2008) – Jason Johnson, the "Cajun Sensation"
from Louisiana, captured the second event of the Ollie's 360 Challenge
at the Eldora Speedway on July 8th. The Ollie's 360 Challenge, a
three-race series, pits NASCAR's stars, Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne and
Dave Blaney, against many of the nation's top dirt-track, wing-sprint
car racers. The prize money of each event nearly doubles the standard
dirt-track purse and if a driver can win two of the three challenges he
will pocket an additional $50,000 bonus. If Johnson wins at Williams
Grove on August 19, his gross earnings of $56,000 will be one of the
largest in wing-sprint car racing in the United States.
"We are very excited to be associated with the inaugural Ollie's Bargain
Outlet 360 Challenge," commented Mark Butler, CEO of Ollie's Bargain
Outlet. "The first two events showcased the top wing sprint car racers
in the nation with car counts exceeding 50, and some awesome side by
side racing. We wanted to provide great value to race fans in the
mid-Atlantic region, and we think we have accomplished our objective. We
also wish Jason Johnson good luck as he seeks the $50,000 bonus at the
Grove."
"The Ollie's Bargain Outlet 360 Challenge has been some of the most
exciting racing I have been involved with in my career. Not only is it a
great opportunity to race against NASCAR stars Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne
and Dave Blaney, but to beat some of the best talent in wing sprint car
racing such as Donny Schatz and Joey Saldana has been very rewarding. I
look forward to battling it out at the Grove, putting on a great show
for the fans and hopefully taking home $50,000", commented Jason the
"Cajun Sensation" Johnson.
