Back to School Night at the Races Sunday at Cayuga County Fair Speedway

This Sunday, August 24th Aramark presents “Back to School Night at the Races” at Cayuga County Fair Speedway. All kids coming to the Speedway this Sunday night will be eligible to compete in the always exciting Bike Races!
The DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and BattleKarz will take the green at 7pm. The pit area will open Sunday at 4pm, while grandstand gates will swing open at 5pm.
Tickets for all regular season events will be made available at the gate. Adult general admission is set at $12, $10 for Seniors (Age 65+), $5 for children (Ages 10-14), and those under the age of 9 are FREE.
Last Sunday night Mike Bowman picked up his first career Modified win at Cayuga County . Bowman managed to hold off long-time Weedsport veteran Alan Johnson for the popular win.
Jimmy Phelps still holds a 12-point Championship lead on Johnson, as all Modified competitors received show-up points while the Super DIRTcar Series was in competition at Cornwall Motor Speedway. Two-time feature winner Matt Sheppard rides third ahead of Steve Paine and Billy Dunn in the front five.
The DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds saw its 10th different winner in ten races this season with Ben Wheeler picking up his first career win on Sunday night. Wheeler beat out Dave Marcuccilli and Daryl Hilkert for the victory.
Jeremy Pitcher again holds the Sportsman point lead over Kevin Ridley, Tim Currier, Tom Juhl, and Hilkert.
Nate Peckham pulled into victory lane last Sunday in the DIRTcar Street Stock finale for his first win of 2008. Nick Rizzo continues to lead the way in the standings over the no. 2 of Steve Woodworth.
Bill Werner grabbed the win in the BattleKarz division on August 17th. Nick Werner is still the Championship leader over Bill Werner, Barb Amadon, Les Baker, and Karl Werner.
