$5.00 Admission for Trumbull and Lawrence County Residents and "Mod-Autograph" Night This Saturday at Sharon Speedway

Hartford, OH August 19, 2008 The 2008 racing season may be winding down but "Fantastic Five" Racing action will continue at the Sharon Speedway this Saturday, August 23rd. It is the final installment of the "County Night" promotion and all residents of Trumbull County, OH and Lawrence County, PA will be admitted to the grandstands for just $5.00.

In addition the Gibson-Governor Insurance Agency Modified Division drivers will take part in an autograph session at intermission. There will be lots of driver cards, candy and other "special treats" for race fans of all ages as they get the opportunity to meet their "Modified Heroes" in person!

The Trumbull Business College and Lincoln Electric will also be sponsoring trophies for the feature winners in each division
The 2008 Sharon Speedway Champions will be determined in the next two weeks. "Mr. Versatility" Alan Dellinger has a commanding lead in the Tom's Sewer and Drain Service E-Mod Point Standings. Dellinger has captured seven feature wins in the division and barring any misfortune this Saturday he will lock up the title. Dellinger is also leading the Tight-Seal Glass Block Pure Stock Standings. The Hermitage, PA driver has already captured eight Pure Stock wins and holds a 135 point lead over Bill Hanna. Hanna, the quite veteran from Jamestown, PA, may not have a feature win but his consistent top five finishes have put him within striking distance.

The Limited Sprint Division points battle finds veteran Guy Griffin tied with teenager Brandon Spithaler for first place. Griffin has four feature wins to his credit and is hoping he can capture the title for the second consecutive year. Spithaler on the other hand is the "New Kid on the Block". The Evans City, PA teenager has captured two feature wins in just his second year of competition. Spithaler's tenacity and determination to win every event he participates in are the traits of a true champion.

The Warren Harley-Davidson 410 Sprint Division points leader is Dan Shetler. Shetler and the Chiapelli Motorsports Team make the long tow from Johnstown, PA each Saturday. Although Shetler has not visited victory lane he has finished in the top five on numerous occasions.

Gibson-Governor Insurance Agency Modified points leader Dave Murdick has used a strategy that is very similar to that of Shetler. Murdick has not won a Modified main event but he has finished every feature event in the seventh spot or better. Murdick, who hails from Slippery Rock, PA, is in his first full year of competition here at Sharon. The Armstrong Zoom Internet sponsored Troyer Chassis will be looking to visit the Hovis Auto and Truck Supply Victory Lane to secure the points title.

Pit Gates for this Saturday's racing action will open at 3:00PM with the Grandstand Gates opening at 4:00PM. Racing begins promptly at 6:00PM.

Adult General Admission is $11.00 with Teens (Ages 9-13) priced at $5.00. Children ages Eight and Under are Free. Pit Admission is $22.00.
