EASTERN MOTORSPORT PRESS ASSOCIATION SETS 41ST CONVENTION DATES AND CONVENTION SITE LANGHORNE, PA August 21, 2008 . . . The Eastern Motorsport Press Association, made up of close to 200 professional media that cover motorsports on a national, regional and local level, will hold their 41st annual convention on January 23, 24 and 25th, 2009 and the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Trevose, PA.
Over the years many of the top participants and personalities in the sport have been part of the annual conventions. In addition the EMPA has inducted many well known names in the sport into their Hall of Fame.
The convention consists of a variety of press conferences featuring national, regional and local speedways, organizations, race teams and racers who share their plans for the new season with the 100 of more media that are on hand. In addition there are a number of social and networking opportunities along with the annual NASCAR/EMPA Hall of Fame Awards Dinner.
“This is a great opportunity for those involved in the sport to have their message reach the media that cover the sport on a regular basis,” said the EMPA president Ernie Saxton. “We welcome all that are involved in the sport to participate. We really would like to see more involvement from the local short tracks as they seem to be the most in need of more media exposure.”
Expected to participate again this year are representatives of NASCAR, Pocono Raceway, NHRA, IRL, Dover International Speedway, World Racing Group, Andy Belmont Motorsports, Richmond International Raceway, Watkins Glen, SPEED Channel, Valvoline, and a number of others.
Again this year members who have their work appear on the Internet, radio and TV, and in print publications will be participating in contests judged by outsiders to see who earns the top awards.
