GRASSO, GRAVEL & ANDERSON THE TALK OF URC OVER THE WEEKEND
The Rislone URC Sprint Series, hot off a two race weekend that saw Chad
Layton and David Gravel split the victories, will be gearing up for a
return to the New Egypt Speedway on Saturday night, August 30. Chad
Layton won the URC sprint feature Friday night at the Grove and did it
in convincing style, but through the grandstands, all the "talk" was
about JJ "The Jersey Jet" Grasso. Grasso finished fifth in the feature
event after going to rear early in the race. Not only did Grasso make
passing look easy, he did it with his typical rim-riding, up high
against the guardrail style that left the crowd totally amazed. Grasso
is confirming race after race, that he can get the job done! So get
ready as URC returns to New Egypt Speedway this Saturday night, a track
where the Pedricktown, NJ driver has won the last three races.
Saturday night at Delaware International Speedway, rookie driver David
Gravel and URC's number one lady driver Becca Anderson stole the show.
Becca Anderson is a favorite at most tracks and without a doubt, the
state of Delaware's favorite sprint car driver. Anderson led most of
the feature Saturday night until rookie sensation David Gravel of
Watertown, CT took the lead in one swift move. Anderson fought back to
regain the lead, only to have Randy West take second in the closing
laps. Gravel delivered an awesome run, Randy West added a twist to the
show and Anderson as always, was exciting in the Bar's Leaks sponsored
sprint car.
Going into New Egypt Speedway, URC has presented eighteen events
delivering twelve different winners. Seven events still remain in 2008
with three shows on the schedule at New Egypt, without a doubt a
favorite stop for JJ Grasso.
URC continues to offer outstanding racing on a weekly basis and their
handicapping system is the key to their success as well as delivering
multiple winners. Along with the weekly top URC contenders, outsiders
have invaded the URC organization in seek of the coveted checkered flag.
Kenny Adams won the Rislone Nationals at Williams Grove, Blane Heimbach
was the winner of the Jack Gunn Memorial, Jason Johnson recently won the
Kasey Kahne Foundation event at Williams Grove as Ryan Bohlke and Chad
Layton strapped into a 360 sprint and claimed the checker flag.
