TWIN 20s AUGUST 29 -- BILLY KIMMEL MEMORIAL AUGUST 31

MECHANICSBURG, PA -- Williams Grove Speedway will host two special
events over the Labor Day weekend with sprint car racing as the featured
attraction both Friday, August 20 and Sunday, August 31.
Twin 20-lap features for sprint cars will highlight Friday night's
program with the first heat scheduled to start at 8:00. A fireworks
display will follow the racing.
There will be no time trials for the Twin 20s.
The speedway's usual handicapping system will be used to lineup the
qualifying heats and the first feature. The winner will draw for
inversion in the second feature.
Triple 20-lap features run at Williams Grove on August 15 produced
three different winners in Fred Rahmer, Doug Esh and Brian Leppo.
While Rahmer has amassed a considerable lead in the Cindy Rowe Auto
Glass point standings, positions two through eight could be altered
considerably by the Twin 20s.
August 31 will serve as a rain date for the Twin 20s. If the rain
date is not needed, then the Billy Kimmel Memorial will be presented on
Sunday evening, beginning at 7:45.
This special Sunday program on the eve of Labor Day will be a rare
open wheel triple header featuring sprint cars, 358 c.i. sprints and
super sportsman cars.
While the usual qualifying procedure for sprint cars will be in
effect, a unique format will be used for the other two divisions.
The top ten drivers in both the Bass Pro Shops 358 and Sutliff Auto
Group point standings will be locked into their respective features and
will comprise rows two through six in the starting lineup. They will be
inverted with the point leaders starting twelfth and the tenth-ranked
drivers starting third.
The remainder of the field will be divided into two qualifying
races for each division. The qualifying races will be lined up with
the high point drivers starting at the front of each race.
The winners of the qualifying races will earn front row starting
positions for their respective features.
The remaining qualifiers will fill rows seven through twelve in the
feature lineup.
In 2007 sprint car driver Billy Kimmel was fatally injured during
the running of this event, and this year's version has been named to
honor his memory.
