Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series Doubles Up with Budweiser Twins at Cayuga County Fair Speedway

This Sunday, August 31 Taylor-Rental of Auburn presents the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series “Budweiser Twin 54’s” at Cayuga County Fair Speedway. This weekend’s stop marks the second trip for the tour at the Weedsport oval. The mighty DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, and DIRTcar Street Stocks will take the green at 7pm.
Pit windows will open at 3pm, with grandstand admission beginning at 5pm.
The Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series Integra Shocks Time Trials will take place at 6:15pm with a Fan Fest Autograph Session to be conducted immediately after on the front straightaway. Autograph posters will be made available throughout the evening at various locations within the Speedway .
Tickets for this special event will be made available at the gate. Adult general admission is set at $20, $18 for Seniors (Age 65+), $5 for children (Ages 10-14), and those under the age of 9 are FREE.
Last weekend’s weekly Big-Block racing at Cayuga County Fair Speedway saw “Lightning” Larry Wight storm away with his first career Big-Block Modified triumph. Jimmy Phelps and Alan Johnson continue to lead the way in the Modified standings, with Phelps holding a 15-point advantage. Sunday’s racing will mark the final point event of the regular season at the Weedsport oval, as Phelps looks to win his second consecutive track title.
Last season’s Super DIRTcar Series Labor Day contest at Cayuga County Fair Speedway saw Johnson and 2008 Series hot shoe Billy Decker pick up wins. The Super DIRTcar Series Memorial Day 76-lapper held earlier this year was taken by Dale Planck.
The DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds and DIRTcar Street Stocks will also be competing in their final points paying event of 2008 this Sunday.
Kevin Ridley picked up the Sportsman main event last Sunday, and as a result has moved to within three-points of defending track champion Jeremy Pitcher for the 2008 title. Ridley is the only 2-time winner this season at Cayuga County Fair Speedway.
The DIRTcar Street Stocks saw Andy Fisk pick up his first Cayuga County Fair Speedway win last Sunday. Defending track champion Nick Rizzo still leads the way overall with a 12-point lead on Canandaigua Champion Mike Welch.
