Labor Day Weekend Filled with Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprint Excitement.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – It’s a holiday in both countries called Labor Day (Labour north of the border) and the 25th Anniversary Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) will be out in force to join the celebration. It all starts this Friday night with a return trip to Autodrome Granby followed by Autodrome Drummond on Saturday before capping the holiday weekend at Utica-Rome Speedway in the States on Sunday.
SMAC Magazine presents the Canadian Invasion Series and Fondations 4 Saisons will back the A-Mains at both Autodromes in Quebec. The duo 25 lap finales both pay $2000 to win with a hefty $450 just to take the green flag. Fellow French-Canadian mates Steve Poirier and Alain Bergeron have won the previous events at Granby and Drummond which were greeting by standing ovations from their hometown crowds.
Joining them will be top stars from the US such as Lance Yonge, Justin Barger, Jeff Cook, Tim Kelly, Tommy Wickham, Bubby Kerrick, Anthony Cain, Russ Bennett along with fellow Canadians Michael Parent, Brian McDonald, Lee Ladouceur, Normand Beaudreault, Justin Harris, Daniel Lampron (who is sponsoring the dash at Drummond) and Kayle Robidoux.
After the final of three Quebec weekends, it’s a trek south to Vernon, N.Y. for the final of three visits to the Utica-Rome Speedway where the best will be looking to beat local favorite Jason Barney who as swept the first two events. Also, looking to be in the field will be Doug Emery, Jessica Zemken, Chuck Hebing, Cory Sparks, Jared Fink, Jared Zimbardi, Ryan Bohlke, Gordy Button, Brandon Warner, Jami Russell and many others.
The A-Main will be back by the good folks from SUNY Canton to make it a cool $2,000 to win with New Freedom Raceway picking up the sponsorship of the Walt’s Hobby Dash. An awesome fireworks show will cap off the holiday weekend event.
It’s the stretch driver for the Lucas Oil championship and the SMAC Magazine Canadian Invasion title. Granby, Drummond, Utica-Rome, the stars and cars from ESS is ready to throw some mud in your eye and in what has become tradition for 25 years…it will be excitement guaranteed!
