GRASSO SMOKES THE COMPETITION FOR HIS FIFTH URC WIN OF 2008 AND FOURTH
IN A ROW AT NEW EGYPT

NEW EGYPT, NJ . . . . The "Jersey Jet" JJ Grasso of
Pedricktown, NJ likes New Egypt Speedway, the URC handicapping system
and the $2,000 that goes to feature winner. Saturday night at the New
Egypt Speedway, Grasso brought the crowd to their feet by winning his
heat race and the twenty-five lap Rislone URC Sprint Series feature
event. This show was also part of the Fred's Trailer Parts New Series
of 2008. Grasso, who takes a liking to the URC handicapping system made
short work of a strong field by starting seventh in his heat race and
winning the ten lap event, setting times in excess of one second per lap
faster then any other car on the track. The heat race win earned
Grasso the pole in the feature event where he led the entire twenty-five
lap distance. Grasso remained exciting through the entire feature,
slicing his way through lapped traffic and rim-riding the outside
guardrail which kept the fans on their feet lap after lap. For Grasso,
it was fourth URC win in a row at New Egypt and fifth win of 2008.
Year-to-date, Grasso has already earned $10,000 just in his five URC
victories. The season isn't over and yes, Grasso still has another
chance to win a URC race in October at New Egypt.

Passing was the theme of the night, again a compliment to the URC
handicapping system that on this night, attracted a healthy thirty-one
car field. URC heat race winners include JJ Grasso, Ed Aikin and Jason
Clauss as the Don Ott "B" winner was Randy West.

Just prior to the start of the URC "B" Main, a rain shower moved over
the speedway, dumping rain for more then twenty minutes. The New Egypt
Speedway management and staff should be commended for an outstanding
effort to get the track back in shape and not only in race ready
condition, but near perfect.

At the start of the Rislone URC Sprint feature, Grasso was the early
race leader with Ed Aikin and Jason Clauss follow to make up the top
three. On lap five, the first yellow was displayed when Trevor Lewis
slowed on the homestretch. On the restart, Grasso once again ran to
hide from the rest of the field, leaving Aikin and Kramer Williamson,
Dave Ely and Kyle Purks to battle for the second through fifth.

The red flag was displayed on lap seven when Rory Janney flipped in
turn one. Janney walked away uninjured but the car was badly damaged
and unable to compete in the balance of the race. Grasso remained the
pace setter followed by Aikin, Ely in third, Kyle Purks in fourth and
Michael Carber in fifth.

The final caution of the night was for Kyle Purks (racing in fourth) on
lap twelve who developed steering problems and came to a stop in turn
two.

With the green flag waiving, Grasso was away and gone and set the pace
as the field took the halfway sight. Aikin followed in second followed
by Dave Ely, URC's point leader Curt Michael and Michael Carber.
Although Grasso set a blistering pace, he certainly remained exciting as
well with many fans holding their breath and he wheeled through the
turns lap after lap.

In the closing laps, Michael Carber was the sleeper waiting to attack.
Charging from fifth, on the final lap, Carber passed Curt Michael and
Dave Ely to take the third place behind Grasso and Ed Aikin. With
Carber third, Dave Ely finished fourth with Curt Michael fifth.
Making up the top ten were Danny Massey, Mark Bitner, Kramer Williamson,
Robbie Stillwaggon and Becca Anderson.
