VONDOHREN, KELLNER AND MORROW ARE FEATURE WINNERS AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
Bechtelsville, PA August 31, 2008 . . . Despite the best efforts of a few lapped cars Craig VonDohren was able to win his sixth feature race of the season winning the 30-lap Green Lane Wm. Penn/Four Star Lettering NASCAR Modified feature race at Grandview Speedway on Saturday night.
In the 20-lapper for the Late Models Mike Kellner earned his fifth win of the season and it was Josh Morrow getting his third win in the 15-lap Legends main event.
Jeff Strunk put some heavy pressure on VonDohren for half of the 30-lap Modified feature and VonDohren almost lost the lead late in the race when lapped cars refused to move over as the top two came charging through. At the finish Strunk was a close second followed by Meme DeSantis (coming from 23rd starting spot) followed by Chris Esposito and Shawn Reimert.
Mike Kellner had things pretty much under his control through most of the 20-lap Late Model main event with Chuck Schutz, battling for the track Late Model title, challenging in second. At the finish Kellner had a comfortable lead over Schutz with Wayne Pfeil, the early race leader, finishing third. Dean Stoudt grabbed fourth followed by Brian Shuey.
The 15-lapper for the Legends saw Morrow move to the front at about the midway mark and lead the rest of the way. Frank Polimeda grabbed second followed by Randy Kissinger, Justin Grim and Tim Henry.
The last point race of the 2008 season takes place on Saturday, September 6th at 7:30 p.m. Tom Oates Chevrolet of Chester Springs, PA will sponsor the doubleheader show featuring the NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Late Models. |
