FORMAT CHANGE FOR SEPTEMBER 5 AT WILLIAMS GROVE

MECHANICSBURG, PA -- A format change has been announced for the
Friday night, September 5, program of 358 c.i. sprint, super sportsman
and 600 c.c. micro sprint racing at Williams Grove Speedway.
Instead of using qualifying heat and consolation races, the
following procedure will be in effect.
The top ten drivers in the Bass Pro Shops 358 and Sutliff Auto
Group sportsman point standings will be locked into their respective
features and will comprise rows two through six in the starting lineup.
They will be inverted with the point leaders starting 12th and the
10th-ranked driver starting third.
The remainder of the field will be divided into two last chance
qualifying races for each division. The qualifying races will be lined
up with the high point drivers starting at the front of each race.
The winners of the qualifying races will earn front row starting
positions for their respective features.
The remaining qualifiers will fill rows seven through twelve in the
feature lineup.
There will be no consolation races in either division.
"We are expecting large fields of cars in all three divisions on
September 5," said Justin Loh, general manager of Williams Grove
Speedway. "This format will allow us to condense our program and get
the fans home at a reasonable hour.."
In lieu of a probable four heats and two consolation races in each
division, the new format will need just two qualifying races to fill
each feature field.
Also, the Fans Dash For Cash originally scheduled for September 5
has been moved to National Open Weekend, September 26-27.
The Fans Dash For Cash is sponsored by the Eastern Sport and
Outdoor Show scheduled for Harrisburg's Farm Show, February 7-15.
Fans are advised to check williamsgrove.com for a list of area
businesses where entry forms will be available for the Fans Dash For
Dash. The contest makes it possible for a fan to win $5000.
