I-30 Speedway's Third Annual 600 Nationals Around the Corner.

I-30 Speedway's Third Annual 600 Nationals Around the Corner!

Lonnie Wheatley, LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (September 4, 2008) – In just two more weeks, dozens upon dozens of the nation's top Micro Sprint Car drivers will converge upon Little Rock's high-banked, ¼-mile I-30 Speedway clay oval for the Third Annual 600 Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires.

Familiarly known to Sprint Car fans around the world as the home of the Short Track Nationals, I-30 Speedway steps up the action on September 19 and 20 with the most lucrative Micro Sprint Car racing event in the nation.

The Third Annual 600 Nationals will culminate with the Saturday night, September 20, championship feature event, which offers up a hefty $7,500 winner's share with additional money added to the back portion of the feature field, as all Saturday championship feature starters will collect at least $500.

I-30 Speedway's Horizon Mini Sprints (Restricted "A" Class) will be in action on both nights as well, with the popular Sprint Car division also taking to the track during Saturday night's 600 Nationals championship finale.

Following a test and tune practice session on Thursday night, September 18, two action-packed nights of competition will follow with the top six finishers in Friday night's 600 Nationals preliminary feature locked into Saturday night's $7,500-to-win finale. The balance of the field will start out Saturday night with a clean slate in the battle to fill out the feature field.

All non-qualifiers will collect $275 on Saturday night.

Home state driver Travis Senter, Jr., bested a field of 126 entries to top the inaugural edition of the 600 Nationals in 2006, with Oklahoma's Jerrod Wilson taking the winner's cut across state lines after emerging atop a rugged field of 129 competitors at I-30 Speedway last year.
