Sarver, PA (September 4, 2008) It is a melancholy time of the year; as the kids are back in school and Labor Day is behind us. These two events mark the ceremonious end to the summer. Gone are the days of sleeping in, swimming for hours on end and enjoying the freedom that summer provides children. And while some children enjoy being back in school, most are feeling blue about the prospect of nine long months of another school year. So help your kids shake those blues by bringing them out to Lernerville Speedway this Saturday evening for our “Back to School” school bus, powder puff, senior series and kid’s bike races, as well as our first demolition derby of 2008.
Ticket prices are a very reasonable $11 for adults, and as always kids 10 & under are admitted FREE! Children competing in the Bike races MUST wear a helmet! All kids competing in the bike races will receive a trophy or ribbon depending on their finishing order. All children through the gates, regardless of whether or not they compete in the bike races, will receive a ticket for a chance to win a brand new bike courtesy of Sarver Landscape Supply and G&D Beverage.
Word on the street is that 2008 Advance Auto Parts UMP DIRTcar Street Stock Champion Bob Egley will have the Bat Bus back in action and is gunning for Bill Clepper, whom checkered last month’s school bus feature. Christi Egli and Rosie Spithaler will also rekindle their rivalry after trading paint last month, Egli eventually prevailed for the win!
The Senior Series is also scheduled to be in action Saturday Night, so come and see your favorite drivers of the past do battle on the 4/10 mile Sarver speedplant.
The night will come to a close with the first Demolition Derby of the 40th Anniversary Season.
