KAY SNAGS FIRST VICTORY AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (September 5, 2008) - Joe Kay drove to his first victory
at Bridgeport Speedway by taking the checkered flag in the 600cc
Micro-Sprint feature. Jessica Lindmeier started on the pole of the
twenty lap feature and led the first fifteen laps. Coming from his
fourth starting spot, Kay motored underneath Lindmeier exiting turn two
on lap 15 to assume the lead. Kay led the remaining laps for the win.
Jeff Hartman came home in second place after starting the feature in the
sixth position. Lindmeier, Glenn Heverin and Jimmy Carpenter rounded out
the top five. John Carpenter, Kay, Lindmeier, and Eddie Wagner gained
heat race victories. Bryant Davis took the checkered flag in the
Buckhorn Restaurant B Main race. The 600cc Micro-Sprint wingless feature
sponsored by Guhl Motors was postponed due to the rain and will be held
on Friday, September 12.
Chris Locuson led all twenty laps of 270cc Micro-Sprint feature for his
second career win at Bridgeport Speedway and his first in 2008. Eighth
place starter Eddie Wagner came home in second place. Completing the top
five finishers were Matt McAnally, Katie Fitzsimmons, and Dave Brown.
John Copeland, Locuson, Brown, and McAnally won the heat races for the
270cc Micro-Sprints while veteran John Blanda claimed the Buckhorn
Restaurant B Main.
Brian Crisman took the lead from polesitter Joe Robinson on lap 4 and
led the remaining laps to claim the rain shortened 4-Cylinder Stock Car
feature. With the victory, Crisman has four wins in 2008. Current point
leader Warren Stradley finished in second place. Bucky Albright, Dave
Damiano and Mike Hughes filled out the top five.
Heat races were won by Albright and Robinson.
