358 sprint car driver John Westbrook is currently undergoing surgery at Hershey Medical Center for injuries suffered in a crash last night at Williams Grove Speedway.

On the fourth lap of the feature Westbrook's car flipped over the first turn fencing. The car landed upright by the access road behind turns one and two.

Westbrook was removed from the car and transported to Hershey Medical Center. He has two broken vertebra and one crushed vertebra. The medical staff at Hershey Medical Center began surgery at 3 a.m. and he will be in the operating room for 12 hours.

There are encouraging signs and more information will be passed on as soon as it is received.
