WOODHULL RACEWAY FALLS TO MOTHER NATURE.
2008 POINT STANDINGS ARE NOW OFFICIAL.
(Woodhull, NY) On a Saturday where the weather forecast was to improve as the day went on it was the direct opposite as persistent late afternoon and early evening showers put a damper on the final point’s night of the 2008 season at the Woodhull Raceway. With virtually every other race track in New York having already cancelled due to the large weather front that enveloped the northeast quadrant, Woodhull looked poised to get the show into the books, however Mother Nature had other plans and with the cancellation Woodhull now moves into a Special’s Only format for the remainder of the 2008 race season.
At the upcoming Woodhull Raceway Awards Banquet set for Saturday, November 22 the top ten point finishers in each of Woodhull’s weekly six divisions of competition will share in the season long point fund.
Claiming the 2008 Woodhull Raceway Track Championships include the following:
Billy VanPelt in the L.J. Kennedy Trucking 358 Modified Division.
Donnie Lawson in the S&W Awards and Photos Crate Sportsman Class.
Glen Whritenour in the NAPA 360 Late Model Division.
Brian Knowles in the Morgan’s Auto Repair Street Stock Class.
Ted Morseman Jr. in the Signs Plus of Kanona Mini Stock Division.
Ron Daily Jr. in the LaBarron Brothers Repair and Parts FWD Class.
Coming up next at Woodhull it’s the 4th Annual Lyle Sherwood Memorial event for the T3 All Star 358 Modifieds presented by Troyer Race Cars along with the BRP Can AM 360 Late Models, an Open Street Stock Show as well as the Mini Stocks which have just been added to the schedule for the Sept. 13 event.
The night of action will be sponsored by Dewert Speed, Insinger Race Fuels, Instant Heat Wood Pellets and Two Rivers Timber Company.
Gates open at 4:30 with racing at 6:30.
