BRP CanAm Series Returns To Woodhull
St. Catharines, ONT…The BRP CanAm Late Model Series returns to action on Saturday September 13 on the high banks of Vern Wasson’s Woodhull Raceway.
This annual fall event starts a busy month of September for the BRP CanAm Series race teams. After a three week break in Series tour action to allow the teams finished their Series weekly business at Black Rock, McKean, and Woodhull it is September Stretch with back to back Saturday night Series tour programs at Woodhull, Little Valley, and McKean.
Glenn Whritenour is writing a great chapter in his racing career story at Woodhull Raceway. The Jasper, NY resident is the defending race winner, winner of the BRP CanAm tour spring event at Woodhull, and earned the 2008 Woodhull 360 Late Model track championship. The Woodhull 360 late model championship gives Whritenour 100 home track bonus points the ISKY Cams BRP CanAm Series Championship Chase.
The Saturday September 13 event will be the seventh trip for the Series to Woodhull Raceway. The inaugural event in 2004 was won by Ed Carley. Jeff Chesebro, current Series point leader, won in 2005. Jon Rivers was the 2006 winner. Steve Dixon and Glenn Whritenour were winners in 2007. Whritenour won the Series tour event in May.
In addition to the BRP late models the September 13 show will include the Annual Lyle Sherwood Memorial, a T3 Modified Series program. Gates open at 4:30 for a 6:30 start of the racing program.
