A FINE MIST DAMPENS FRIDAY NIGHT RACING AT BRIDGEPORT
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (September 26, 2008) – A light and persistent mist during
warm-ups at Bridgeport Speedway forced track management to cancel the
“Fast and Furious Friday” race program scheduled for September 26th. The
regular Friday night season is now complete with three 2008 champions
crowned. In the 600cc Micro-Sprint division, Bob DeVault claimed the
championship. Charlie LaManna is the titleholder for 2008 in the 270cc
Micro-Sprint class. The 4 Cylinder Stock Car champion is Warren
Stradley.
“Starlit Saturday Night” racing is scheduled to take place on September
27th with double point season finales for 358 Sportsman, GM Sportsman,
and Outlaw Stocks. The 358 Sportsman will participate in the annual
25-Lap Mr. 358 race. The Outlaw Stocks will compete in two features
including the postponed race from September 20th. Plus, the 4-Cylinder
Stock Cars will join the action on the super fast 5/8th mile oval.
Grandstand Gates open at 5:00 PM, Warm-Ups start at 6:15 PM and the
first race begins at 7:00 PM. General Admission tickets are $15 for
adults. Kids 12 and under are free.
Bridgeport Speedway provides a safe and secure family atmosphere, free
parking, giveaways and fan participation games. Billed ‘The Fastest Dirt
Track in the East’, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile dirt
oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and is
located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania and
Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
