BRIDGEPORT’S 4TH ANNUAL ATLANTIC COAST CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND FEATURES
NON-STOP ACTION ON BOTH TRACKS
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (September 28, 2008) – When Bridgeport Speedway hosts the
4th annual Atlantic Coast Championship sponsored by Hoffman Brothers
Speed and Performance on the weekend of October 11 and 12, race fans
will be treated to racing action on both the 5/8 mile track and the
inner 1/4 mile oval.
“With the recent addition of the Micro-Sprint Nationals to our Atlantic
Coast Weekend schedule, this will be an event that every fan will want
to see!” said Track Promoter Jessica James.
During the race weekend, Big Block Modifieds, Open Competition Small
Block Modifieds, and Open Competition Sportsman will see action on both
days. Qualifying events will take place on Saturday while feature events
for these divisions are scheduled for Sunday. Also on Saturday, the
Racing Realtor Mad Dash for Cash Series will swing back into action for
the Big Block Modified heat winners with $500 awaiting the winner of a
3-Lap dash. On Sunday, a 50-lap feature is on tap for the Big Block
Modifieds with a $5000 payday awarded to the winner. The 358 Small Block
Modifieds will compete in a 30-Lap event with $3500 going to the winner.
Open Competition Sportsman will do battle in a 30-Lap event paying $1500
to win.
GM Crate Sportsman and 4 Cylinder Stock Cars will race only on Saturday.
On Sunday, the popular Crate Late Models and Outlaw Stocks will join the
racing action.
During the evening of Saturday, October 11, the Micro-Sprint Nationals
will be contested on the 1/4 mile speedway for the 270cc and 600cc
Micro-Sprints. Each of these divisions will race in a 25-Lap feature
with the $1000 going to the victor.
On Saturday October 11, Pit Gates will open at 9:00 AM, Grandstand Gates
open at 11:00 AM with warm-ups at 12:00 PM. On Sunday October 12, Pit
Gates will open at 10:00 AM and Grandstand Gates will open at 11:00 AM
with a pre-race pit party and driver re-draw to occur at the pavilion
behind the main Grandstand. Warm-ups hit the track at 12:30 PM on
Sunday. For the Micro-Sprint National competitors, Pit Gates for the 1/4
mile speedway will open at 4:00 PM with warm-ups starting at 6:30 PM and
time trials beginning at 7:00 PM.
General Admission to the grandstands is $15 on Saturday and $25 on
Sunday. A 2-day General Admission pass may be purchased for $35. Pit
Admission is $30 on Saturday and Sunday. A 2-day Pit Admission pass is
available for $45. No pit license is required for the Atlantic Coast
