Showdown special Oct. 3-4 at Kennedale Speedway Park
KENNEDALE, Texas (Oct. 1) – A fifth IMCA-sanctioned division joins
the race program for the Showdown special at Ken nedale Speedway Park
this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3-4.
IMCA Modifieds get top billing at the second annual event, running
for $2,500 to win and a minimum of $300 to start their Fast Shafts
All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying feature.
First place in both the IMCA Southern SportMod and IMCA Sunoco Stock
Car features pays $1,200. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and GM Performance
Crate Mod els, the newest addition to the lineup at KSP, are both in
the run ning for $750 to win.
All five features will be 30 laps, with a minimum of $150 paid to
start the SportMod and Stock features and a minimum of $75 to take
the green flag in the Hobby and Crate Model mains.
Gates open at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2 for practice and
registration. Pit passes that evening are $20 and grandstand
admission is free.
On Friday, gates open at 3 p.m., the draw closes at 6 p.m. and racing
starts at 6:30 p.m. Gates also open at 3 p.m. Saturday, the draw
closes at 5 p.m. and racing begins at 6 p.m.
Pit passes are $25 on Friday and $30 on Saturday. Friday’s grandstand
admission is $12 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-11. Saturday
admission is $15 for adults and $5 for kids. Youngsters five and
under get in free both days.
