Salt Rock Express Rolls to Victory at Brushcreek
(Peebles, Ohio) In his first visit to Brushcreek Motorsports Complex since 2006 Eddie Carrier Jr., of Salt Rock W.V, found his way to victory lane on Saturday October 4. The victory was worth $5,000 and gave Carrier a guaranteed starting spot in the next three Billy Bob races. Carrier got the evening started by setting fast time in his group, turning a 13.949 in the Grover Motorsports #28 Rocket. Carrier's was the only competitor to break the 13 second barrier in time trials. The "Salt Rock Express" rolled to the heat number one win. While Delmas Conley, Donnie Moran and Mike Wilson were the heat numbers two, three and four winners.Carrier jumped out to the early Billy Bob feature lead, followed by Delmas Conley, Donnie Moran and Mike Wilson. The action was slowed with a lap four caution when Chris Shannon spun. On the restart, Carrier again jumped out out to the lead, followed by Delmas Conley, Donnie Moran and Mike Wilson. The action was slowed with a lap seven caution when Delmas and R.J. Conley got together in turn three. R.J. Conley was called for the caution. Obviously a decision he didn't agree with when he refused to go to the tail, halting the race for sometime until cooler heads prevailed and Conley went pit side. Following the restart. the action would quickly be slowed with a lap eight caution when Tim Dohm, Donnie Morran and Mike Wilson got together, resulting in spins for Moran and Dohm. Dohm would be charged with the caution and sent to the tail. On the restart, Carrier again began to pull away from Conley, Wilson and Moran. He would reach the back of the field on lap sixteen. Shannon spun as Carrier made the pass to lap him. Shannon was charged with the caution, his second sending him pit side. Before Shannon left he let Carrier know his displeasure with him. The race would see several more cautions with Carrier working the restarts to perfection to pick up the Billy Bob 40 feature win Following Carrier across the line was Delmas Conley, Tim Dohm, Andy Bond, Mike Wilson, and Jackie Boggs rounding out the top five. In other action it was Rick Hensley picking up the modified feature win. Jamey Adams taking the bomber feature win. Tom Partin took the legend feature. While Mike Strickland claimed the chevette/4 cylinder feature and Tyler Moore won the enduro race. The Billy Bob was the final race of the 2008 season.
